{"id":36,"date":"2016-02-16T17:05:22","date_gmt":"2016-02-16T17:05:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/millrosecenter.com\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2023-04-09T20:16:47","modified_gmt":"2023-04-09T20:16:47","slug":"faqs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/millrosecenter.com\/?page_id=36","title":{"rendered":"Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Why did you decide to serve individuals with Intellectual\/Developmental Disabilities?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Souzi and I have been foster parents for those with special needs for over 27 years.\u00a0 We opened Millrose Center so that we could help more individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and make a positive impact in their quality of life.<\/p>\n<p><em>What type and length of experience does your staff have in serving individuals with Intellectual\/Developmental disabilities?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All Millrose Center staff must have at least two years experience working with special needs individuals to be considered for employment.\u00a0 We also provide 30 hours of training and they must pass a written exam with a score of at least 75%.<\/p>\n<p>Staff must complete comprehensive training in the following areas:<\/p>\n<p>Abuse, Neglect, Client Rights and Confidentiality<\/p>\n<p>Conflict of Interest and Sexual Harrassment<\/p>\n<p>Seizures and Seizure Disorders<\/p>\n<p>Crisis Intervention<\/p>\n<p>Infection Control<\/p>\n<p>HIPPA<\/p>\n<p>First Aid and CPR<\/p>\n<p><em>What are your policies regarding visitors?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Parents and guardians are welcome to visit at any time, without appointment.<\/p>\n<p><em>Can you accommodate clients who don\u2019t speak English?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Yes.\u00a0 We can accommodate students who speak various languages.<\/p>\n<p><em>What screenings do you require of employees before they are hired?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We conduct thorough pre-employment background checks on all applicants\u00a0 in accordance with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services and the Texas Health and Human Services.\u00a0 Random drug screenings are also conducted.<\/p>\n<p><em>How much does it cost to send my son or daughter to Millrose Center?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If your son or daughter is in a state-funded program like HCS or Texas Home Living, these programs will be billed directly to service provider. We also allow private pay at Millrose Center.\u00a0 The rate is based on a client\u2019s level of need.<\/p>\n<p><em>What are your hours of operation?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Millrose Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.\u00a0 We are closed:\u00a0 Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving (and the following day), Christmas and New Year.\u00a0 During inclement weather, Millrose Center follows any schedule modifications adopted by the Garland Independent School District.<\/p>\n<p><em>Does Millrose Center provide transportation?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Millrose Center does not provide transportation for its clients; however, assistance with using the DART public transportation system is provided.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why did you decide to serve individuals with Intellectual\/Developmental Disabilities?
